Hearts of Gold

Hearts of Gold was designed and painted by professional artist Marnie Maurri.

Design summary

About her design inspiration, Marnie said, “This design was based, quite simply, on the fact that all dogs, and especially guide dogs, are full of love and have absolute hearts of gold! I’ve covered this lovely sculpture in super-shiny gold hearts of varying sizes, with the biggest one being right on the dog’s chest.”

Sensory items

We asked our artists to come up with a scent and a touch item that relates to their design to give a multi-sensory perspective to their concept. Some of these items will be incorporated into our sighted guide and sensory tours. Marnie's sensory items are:

  • Touch item: A soft warm blanket.
  • Scent item: Vanilla or warm smell.
