Remember a Charity
Every year, more and more people like to leave a gift to charity in their Will. These legendary acts are vital in continuing our work. That’s why we’re taking part in Remember A Charity in your Will Week. It runs from 12 to 18 September and celebrates you – our supporters.
This year we’ll be talking about passing on legendary words of wisdom. We’ll be using these words of wisdom to raise awareness about passing on something else legendary, a gift to charity in your Will.
Be grateful for what you have.
Christine Pye, Guide Dogs supporter and pledger
You don't miss your water till your well runs dry.
David Kent, Guide Dog owner
A huge amount of our funds come from the generosity of people like you; but to many it comes as a surprise that gifts in Wills are our most vital source of income. After all two out of three guide dogs exist thanks to gifts in Wills.
Last years gifts in wills enabled us to:
- Provide 1,411,689 days of freedom to people living with sight loss
Next year, with the help of these legendary gifts we hope to:
- Provide 740 guide dog lifetimes
It’s a common myth that you have to be wealthy to leave a gift in your Will, but nothing could be further from the truth. After taking care of family and friends, you’ll be amazed at what one final gift, no matter how big or small, can do.
Whatever the amount we’re extremely grateful for any gifts left to us, as they will help to provide the guide dogs of the future and go on changing the lives of people with sight loss in the UK.
